Wind Noise From Roof-mounted Aerial

Repair instructions regarding wind noise from the area of the roof-mounted aerial
High-frequency wind noise on vehicles with optional extra 403 (electrical glass sunroof) at a speed of around 110 km/h.

NOTE: Only carry out the repair instruction on vehicles with the roof-mounted aerial in the basic version and with optional extra 403 (electrical glass sunroof).

The following optional extras must not be fitted:
- No optional extra 609 (navigation system Professional)
- No optional extra 640 (preparation for built-in telephone, universal)
- No optional extra 644 (preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth)
- No optional extra 654 (DAB tuner)
- No optional extra 693 (preparation for BMW satellite tuner)

Repair instruction

1. Remove the roof-mounted aerial completely.
2. Apply cavity foam with BMW part number 8342 9410694 between the roof and roof base as shown in the illustration.
3. Then fit the "High" version of the new roof-mounted aerial.
4. Secure the bracket for the aerial foot to the roof aerial with 4.5 Nm.

Apply cavity foam between the outer roof panel and the roof base.
