Slight Whining Noise From Differential
Light Howling From The Differential
Complaint
Light howling from differential in high gears, i.e. various engine speeds, at same driving speed.
Operating status
Usually occurs with a warm transmission when the temperature is more than 30 C. The noise can be best heard in 4th 6th gear at a speed of 80 km/h to 100 km/h and with very low pressure on the accelerator. Ideally, it can be heard on light downward inclines.
Repair instruction
The noise does not indicate damage. In the case of an extremely critical customer and a very conspicuously noisy transmission, contact Technical Support.
