Troubleshooting Manual For Head Airbag Fault Memory

Check of "93B0 head airbag" and "93B1 head airbag" fault memory

Procedure for head airbag fault memory:
1. Remove the roofliner or lower it until the head airbag and wiring harness are visible.
2. Check whether the plug connectors (pos. 1 in the graphic) are slack or the contact pins bent. If the plug connectors are slack or the contact pins bent, connect up again and secure.
3. Check whether the wiring harness is damaged on the sharp edge of the cross member of the slide/tilt sunroof (pos. 2 in the graphic). If the wiring harness is damaged, repair it.
4. Secure the rear edge of the cross member (pos. 2 in the graphic) with viscose tape to prevent any further complaints.

NOTE:
- There is a short-circuit bridge at the generator or at the generator connector.
- Test the resistance using the Tester measurement system, otherwise danger of airbag operation.
- In the case of sporadic faults in particular (i.e. fault not present at the moment), the fault is the result of poor contact, corrosion or a loose contact of the plug-in connection.
- Use the fault code memory to determine which generator is involved. If, for example, the fault code memory contains "93B0 head airbag", the generator for "head airbag" is involved. Consult the connection scheme for the pin numbers and adapter numbers.
- All work on the airbag must only take place with the battery disconnected.Only connect and disconnect the control unit, sensors, and gas generators with the battery disconnected. The airbag control unit contains vehicle-specific data and must be encoded prior to start-up.It must not be removed and installed in another vehicle.
