Outer Gearshift Sliding Rails Sluggish

Repair instruction
1. Check the sliding rails for soiling. Clean the sliding rails and gear lever. Remove any corrosion from the gear lever.
2. Remove the gear lever cover.
3. Check the ease of movement of the gear lever and deflection lever, paying particular attention to narrow points at carpet cutouts. If the sequence of movements of the deflection lever is inhibited, rework the carpet.
4. If the no fault is found at the sliding rails, gear lever and deflection lever, replace the gearshift dome on the transmission.

Check the shift console for ease of movement.
