Adjusting Left and Right Splitdoor to Fit




41 62 018 - Adjusting left and right Splitdoor to fit





Caution!
Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.





Read contents of Body, General Service Precautions.
Observe gap dimensions .
The Splitdoor must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.
When the door is closed, the lock striker must not touch or scrape against the door lock. Look out for scratches.
Slacken lock striker, remove if necessary.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear light Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Rear Light.
- Remove trim on Splitdoor .





Left Splitdoor:
Release screws and remove holder (2).
If necessary, release wiring harness (1) from body.

Installation Note:
Make sure wiring harness is correctly seated (watertightness).





Slacken nuts until Splitdoor can still just be moved.
Tightening torque 41 62 2AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Adjust Splitdoor laterally (Y) and vertically (Z).





Slacken screws until Splitdoor can still just be moved.
Tightening torque 41 62 3AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Adjust Splitdoor in longitudinal direction (X).





After installation:
- Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
- Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
