Airbag Warning Lamp Illuminated: Driver's Side Seat Position Switch Fault

SITUATION
The customer states that the Airbag Warning Lamp (AWL) is illuminated.
CAUSE
The following fault is stored in the ACSM/MRS (Advanced Crash Safety Module) fault memory: "93BF Seat position sensor" driver's side (Short to ground)". Wiring under the seat for the seat position switch may be pinched / damaged.
CORRECTION
Perform a vehicle test with ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application) and complete the test plan "B6577_ACSM11-Seat position sensor". The fault is stored in the control unit but may not be currently present. Inspect the seat position switch wiring under the seat as it may be pinched between the seat spring and seat frame.
Refer to the attachment for repair hints on the seat position switch wiring located under the driver's seat.
