Low Pressure Fuel System

Low Pressure Fuel System

Low pressure fuel system
The electric fuel pump and its delivery unit are located on the right side of the fuel tank. A fuel-level sensor is also mounted on the electric fuel pump.

NOTICE: Number of fuel-level sensors.

Depending upon engine version, a fuel-level sensor may also be installed on the left side of the tank. Consult the diagnosis wiring diagrams.
An electrical connection links the fuel-level sensor to the JBE Junction Box - Electronics. From there the signal is relayed to the instrument cluster on the K-CAN.

Brief component description
This section describes the following components in the high-pressure fuel system:

Electric fuel pump and fuel-pump relay
The electric fuel pump is powered by a DC motor with a permanent magnet.
Activation of the electric fuel pump is controlled by the fuel-pump relay. The fuel-pump relay, in turn, is activated by the engine-management system. This system provides the electric fuel pump with electrical power.
The electric fuel pump runs whenever activation power is being transmitted to the fuel-pump relay.

The fuel-pump relay is located in the JBE Junction Box - Electronics. The front power distribution box is part of the JBE.
