23 11 310 - Replacing shifting unit
Note:
After completion of work, check transmission fluid level 00 11 229 Oil Change In Manual Gearbox.
Important!
Use only the approved transmission fluid.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the manual transmission.
Installation:
After installing the shifting unit, it is necessary to teach in the position of the zero gear sensor again.
Adjustment is carried out with the "Service function" of the DIS Tester (learn/write zero gear sensor).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove resonance body and intake duct Service and Repair (N12 only)
- Remove intake neck for intake filter housing (N14 only)
- Remove intake duct(W16 only)
- Release coolant expansion tank Service and Repair and place to one side
Remove coolant hose from holder (1).
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 23 41 1AZ 23 41 Outer Parts, Gear Shifting.
Pull shifting unit up and out of transmission.
Note installation position.
Installation:
Clean thread pitches.
Replace microencapsulated screws.
Apply Loctite 5203 sealing compound.
