Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

65 77 016 Removing And Installing Airbag Control Unit







WARNING:
Comply with airbag safety regulations.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery earth lead
- Remove centre console







Release screws (1) on parking brake console holder (2).







Raise handbrake console holder (1).
Feed out cover for airbag control unit (2).







Slacken nut (1).
Tightening torque 65 77 1AZ.
Release nut (2) and disconnect grounding cable underneath.
Tightening torque 65 77 1AZ.
Carefully feed out airbag control unit (3).







Disconnect plug connection (1). Remove airbag control unit (2).

Installation note:
Make sure cables are correctly laid.
