Required Operations




On page 2 of this bulletin is a flow chart which shows the general descriptions of the REQUIRED OPERATIONS. These "REQUIRED OPERATIONS" must be performed on all affected vehicles as follows:

1. Remove the exhaust manifold heat protector. Check the exhaust manifold and the heat protector for evidence of exhaust leakage. It is not necessary to replace the exhaust manifold even though the manifold has cracks if there is no sign of exhaust gas leakage on the back side of the heat protector. Replace the exhaust manffold as needed. Reinstall exhaust manifold heat protector.

2. Clean the carburetor.

3. Replace the primary main air jet.

4. Adjust fast idle speed.
5. Install the choke shim.

6. Modify and reroute vacuum hoses.

7. Adjust basic ignition timing.

8. Affix the Service label.

9. Complete and affix the "EMISSION RECALL COMPLETED" label.
