Camber
Fig. 1 Camber setting:
DESCRIPTION
Camber refers to the angle at which a wheel leans in or out, Fig. 1. Positive camber is when the wheel leans outward and negative camber is when the wheel leans inward.
FRONT ADJUSTMENT
Less 4 Wheel Drive
1. Hold upper arm shaft to crossmember bolt and remove nut from engine compartment side.
2. Adjust number of shims between upper arm shaft and crossmember. A total of approximately .16 in. of shim thickness is normally required for standard camber. A .039 in. adjustment of shim thickness provides approximately 13 minutes adjustment of camber.
With 4 Wheel Drive
Adjust camber by adjusting number of shims between upper arm shaft and arm post of side frame. A .039 in. adjustment of shim thickness provides approximately 13 minutes adjustment of camber.
REAR ADJUSTMENT
Camber and toe-in are preset to specifications and cannot be adjusted. If camber is out of specification, bent or damaged components must be replaced.
