PURPOSE
Proper fast idle adjustment insures that the engine does not race or die out when started cold. This bulletin summarizes carburetor fast idle specifications for all 1986 carbureted models. Throttle blade opening angles are given, as well as drill sizes for correct adjustment.
The specifications are listed in Table 1, Page 2. Please note that the Mirage specification is not the same as the service manual. As reference to this bulletin, please write the STB number in the revision box on Page 14-52, 1986 Mirage Service Manual.

PROCEDURE
Adjustments are made by turning the fast idle screw (Fig. 1) until the drill just slips between the throttle blade and bore.
NOTE: When performing this adjustment, the carburetor must be at room temperature (74~F). Using this method to adjust the fast idle on a warm engine will result in unsatisfactory choke operation.
