Disassemble

Driveshaft

1. Using screwdriver, remove boot bands, Fig. 13.
2. Using screwdriver, remove circlip from DOJ outer race.
3. Remove driveshaft from DOJ outer race and wipe away grease.
4. Using screwdriver, remove balls from DOJ cage.
5. Remove DOJ cage from DOJ inner race in direction of BJ by turning DOJ cage 30° from position at which balls were removed.
6. Using suitable pliers, remove snap ring from driveshaft, then remove DOJ inner race from driveshaft.
7. Remove circlip from driveshaft.
8. Remove DOJ and BJ boots from driveshaft. Wrap vinyl tape around spline on DOJ side of driveshaft so that boots are not damaged when they are removed.
9. Using a screwdriver, remove dust cover.
10. Inspect all parts and replace as necessary. Do not disassemble BJ

Inner Shaft
1. Using hammer, bend down outer circumference of dust cover.

2. Set tool MB990560 as shown, then tighten nuts until portion ``A'' contacts bearing outer race, Fig. 14, and press bearing from shaft.
3. Using screwdriver, remove dust cover.
4. Inspect all parts and replace as necessary.
