CYLINDER HEAD BOLT TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS



PURPOSE

The cylinder head bolt tightening torque specifications used for several engines has been revised. Hot and cold torque specifications are now the same, and it is NOT necessary to re-torque cylinder head bolts after running the engine.





Located in this bulletin is a chart listing the cylinder head bolt tightening torque specifications for all models except Precis.

DESCRIPTION

Use the chart to determine the correct cylinder head bolt tightening torque for all vehicles, except Precis. For Precis, refer to the appropriate service manual.

Cylinder head bolt tightening sequences shown in the service manuals should still be followed. But, when cylinder head bolt torque specifications differ between this bulletin and the service manual, use the torque specifications listed in this bulletin.

To insure accurate tightening of cylinder head bolts, you may wish to laminate the chart in this bulletin and post it in a conspicuous location so individuals performing engine service can easily refer to it.
