Disassembly


1. Remove throttle return and damper springs.

2. On models with manual transaxle, remove throttle opener/dash pot unit from float chamber, Fig.1.
3. On models with automatic transaxle, remove idle speed control servo from carburetor.
4. On all models, remove connector bracket.
5. Disconnect vacuum hoses, then remove vacuum delay valve.

6. Remove five air horn attaching screws, then remove air horn assembly and gasket from carburetor, Fig. 2.

7. Remove pin, then remove float and needle valve from air horn assembly, Fig. 3.

8. Using two screw drivers, carefully pry upward at each end of needle valve seat to remove, Fig. 4.
9. Using a suitable screwdriver, depress terminal locks and remove wires from electrical connectors. Note Location of wires for installation.

10. Remove grommet from air horn, then remove retainer, feedback solenoid valve attaching screws and feedback solenoid valve, Fig. 5.
11. Remove retainer, then remove slow cut solenoid valve from air horn.
12. Using a suitable tool remove rivets retaining choke cover.
13. Remove packing, choke cover and plate, then using a suitable punch, remove rivet bodies from choke housing.

14. Remove attaching screws, then remove bowl vent valve. Use care not to lose springs or vent valve diaphragm, Fig. 6.

15. Remove attaching screws, then remove choke breaker cover, Fig. 7.

16. Remove anti-overfill check ball and weight, Fig. 8.
17. Detach accelerator pump rod from throttle shaft lever.

18. Remove attaching screw, then separate throttle body from carburetor main body, Fig. 9.

19. Using a suitable screwdriver, carefully remove main jets, Fig. 10.

20. Remove accelerator pump attaching screws, then remove cover, diaphragm, spring body and gasket from carburetor main body, Fig. 11.
21. Remove enrichment valve attaching screws, then remove cover, spring, diaphragm spring from main body, Fig. 11.

22. Disconnect vacuum hose from depression chamber, then detach chamber rod from secondary throttle lever and remove chamber, Fig. 12.
