OPERATION
The light emitting diode and photo diode detect the top dead point in the compression process of the No.1 cylinder, and ECU controls the fuel injection according to the signals sent from the diodes.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
In case of a broken wire or short-circuit in the TDC sensor, improper contact in the connector, etc, improper starting, unstable idling, discontinuous idling, etc. However, even if a wire is broken while the engine is running, it will not result in trouble.





Using Oscilloscope
(1) Run the engine at the idle speed.
(2) Connect the probe to the oscilloscope pick-up point in the circuit diagram, and check the waveform.
