VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION LABEL
This bulletin supersedes TSB-91-17-003. This bulletin authorizes Parts Managers to order/install the VECI label.
PURPOSE
To minimize the potential misuse of Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) labels, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA) is implementing procedures for ordering and installing VECI labels. These new procedures apply to ALL dealers in ALL States and on ALL vehicles.
INSTRUCTIONS
When a replacement VECI label is required, the Dealer's Service/Parts Manager must take the following actions:
1. Examine the vehicle and verify the vehicle requires a replacement VECI label.
2. Photo-copy the form shown in this bulletin.
3. Fill in ALL the necessary information clearly and LEGIBLY.
4. Sign the statement which affirms the new replacement label will be installed on the specified vehicle.
5. Make a copy of the completed form for dealership records.
6. Mail or Fax the completed form to:

Upon receiving the form, MMSA'S, Technical Compliance Group will:
1. Verify the emission certification of the vehicle (Federal, California, or 50-State) using the Vehicle Identification Number.
2. Order the correct label from the appropriate PDC.
3. The PDC will ship the required VECI label to the Dealer via "Best Way".
The replacement label must be installed on the specified vehicle by the signing Manager.
