CODEALARM

General Information

This Remote Keyless Entry System is dealer installed only.

CodeAlarm functions are similar to, but more sophisticated than, Omron or TRW systems. Not only does it allow remote control of the vehicle's power door system, it is also an audible and visible alarm system. The system monitors the vehicle for physical shock (such as breaking a window) and unauthorized entry.

Operation

When the LOCK button is pushed, all doors lock, and the system arms. The siren will emit 1 short "chirp" to indicate that the system is arming. A second "chirp" will follow immediately to indicate the system is fully armed. (a single short "chirp" indicates that one of the protected entry points (such as a door) has been left open. 1 second after the last door is closed the siren will emit the 2nd arming "chirp.") The dashboard mounted status indicator will begin blinking.

Note:
The doors must be fully closed before the system will activate the locks and arm the alarm.

The system also has a starter lockout function which breaks the electrical connection between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid when the system is armed.

When the UNLOCK button is pressed once, all doors unlock. The system disarms.

If both buttons are pressed and held the system goes into a "Panic" function. The audible and visual security alarm will be triggered for 30 seconds. Pressing either button will exit the "Panic" mode.

Starter Interlock Override

If the vehicle's operator loses or damages the transmitter, an emergency override will allow vehicle operation without the transmitter. To override; turn the ignition key on and then press the status indicator/switch.

Alarm Cycles

When the system detects vehicle entry, or a heavy shock, the audible and visual alarms will activate for 60 seconds. The system will then rearm. When there is a slight jolt to the vehicle, the alarm will activate for one second. IF THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED, THE ALARM WILL SOUND WHEN RECONNECTED.

Programming

Note:
The receiver can store a maximum of four transmitter codes. If more codes are entered, the oldest security code will be erased when a new code is entered.

1. To enter the programming mode - with the ignition key ON, the dome light door switch must be pressed and released three times.

Note:
The interior mounted dome light switch cannot be used.

Turn the ignition key OFF.

Note:
Step 1 must be completed within 10 seconds.

When the receiver enters the program mode, the siren will chirp three times when the ignition is turned OFF.

2. Press the "1" button (LOCK/ARM) on the transmitter. The siren will "chirp" once, indicating the transmitter's code has been programmed.

3. Repeat step 2 for any additional transmitters.
