PURPOSE
This bulletin contains information concerning various sealants, adhesives, and other chemicals required when servicing, repairing, and reassembling Mitsubishi vehicles and vehicle systems and components.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Certain sealants, adhesives, and other chemicals are listed in Mitsubishi service manuals which may not be readily available through normal supply channels. The following table has interchange information for some of these popular items. The table lists 3M and Loctite(R)/Permatex(R) part numbers which are available in most areas of the country.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Standard warranty procedures apply. With the exception of MD970398 Mitsubishi sealant, all other numbers on the chart are not available from MMSA, though similar products might be. Many "Generic" part names are now discontinued from the warranty system. If at all possible, only MMSA supplied chemicals should be used when doing warranty repairs. If you use any of the above listed products for a warranty repair, use "NPN" as the part number on the claim, and enter the actual and appropriate quantity and price. For more information about chemical reimbursement policies and procedures, refer to warranty bulletins WB-99-003 and WB-99-009.
WB-99-009 lists discontinued generic names and MMSA supplied products to use instead. For warranty repairs, some of the products shown in WB-99-009 may be used in place of the some of the items listed in this bulletin.
