Fuel System Pressure Relief

1. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector at the fuel tank rear side. Cover fuel pipe line with rag after relieving pressure as some residual pressure may remain.
2. Start engine and let it idle until it stalls from fuel starvation, then turn ignition switch to Off position. Failure to relieve fuel system pressure prior to disconnecting fuel system components may cause fire or personal injury.
3. Disconnect negative battery ground cable.
4. Connect fuel pump harness connector.
5. After repairs have been completed, connect positive battery terminal to fuel pump drive terminal and the negative terminal to the chassis. Ensure fuel pump operates at this time.
