Customer Safety Information

Catalytic Converter
Do not park over combustible objects or materials; dry leaves, cardboard, puddles of oil, etc..
- Catalytic converters reach temperatures of 1200° F (650° C) and stay hot for some time after the engine has been shut off.

Carbon Monoxide
Do not run the engine in confined areas or breathe concentrated exhaust gases.
- Exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide--an odorless, colorless gas which displaces oxygen and can cause loss of consciousness or death.

Exhaust System Leaks
Repair exhaust system leaks as soon as possible.
- Exhaust gases can ignite flammable materials and may set the vehicle on fire.
- In addition exhaust may circulate through the passenger compartment causing throat, sinus, and eye irritation, light headedness, headaches, and increased irritability.

Fuel Odors/Excessive Emissions
Be alert for fuel odors and excessive tailpipe emissions--black smoke etc..
- These are indications of problems which need to be repaired as soon as possible--to prevent further damage to the vehicle and components.
