INSPECTION PROCEDURE USING VOLTMETER





1. Connect an analog voltmeter to the data link connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and the engine control module memory contents will immediately start to display as deflections of the needle or voltage pulses, Longer duration pulses indicate the 10s, and shorter duration pulses indicate the 1s.
I.E. Two long duration pulses followed by three short duration pulses would be a code 23.

3. Record the diagnostic trouble code by counting the number of voltage pulses.
4. After recording the abnormal item, check and repair each part according to the check items in the diagnosis chart.
