Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
Ignition Switch - Removal And Installation:
WARNING Before removal of air bag module, refer to Air Bag System Precautions.
REMOVAL
To remove follow steps 1 through 10 listed in the image -- noting the following:
Steering Wheel Removal:
Step 3: Steering Wheel Removal
Remove the steering wheel by using the special tool.
CAUTION: Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; doing so may damage the collapsible mechanism.

After the screws have been removed, remove the covers, while making sure not to break the grippers.
Steering Lock Cylinder Removal:

1. Insert the ignition key into the steering lock cylinder and place the key in the ACC position.
2. Press the lock pin down with a Phillips head screwdriver (small-size one) to remove the steering lock cylinder.
INSTALLATION
To install reverse the steps listed in the image and note the following:
Step 8: Column Switch And Clock Spring Assembly Installation
Align the mating marks of the clock spring and, after turning the front wheels to the straight-ahead position, install the clock springs to the column switch.
Mating Mark Alignment
Turn the clock spring clockwise fully, and then turn back it approx. 3 4/5 turns counterclockwise to align the mating marks.
CAUTION: If the clock spring's mating marks are not properly aligned, the steering wheel may not rotate completely during a turn, or the flat cable within the clock spring may be severed, obstructing normal operation of the SRS and possibly leading to serious injury to the vehicle's driver.
