Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

2. None Of The Door Lock Funtions Operate

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The ETACS-ECU power is supplied from fusible link number 1 .

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
The cause may be a malfunction of the ETACS-ECU power supply circuit or of the ground circuit

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Damaged harness wires or connectors

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check the power supply line at the ETACS-ECU connector C-86.

1. Remove the ETACS-ECU.
2. Connect the connector C-85 to the junction block.

3. Measure the voltage between terminal 16 and ground.
- Voltage should be approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage).
If not approximately 12 volts, go to Step 2. If approximately 12 volts, go to Step 3.

STEP 2. Check the harness wires between fusible link number 1 and ETACS-ECU connector C-86.
If any harness wire between fusible link number 1 and ETACS-ECU connector C-86 is damaged, repair it. Then go to Step 4.

NOTE: After inspecting intermediate connector C-66 or C-85, inspect the wire. If intermediate connector C-66, C-85 or D-02 is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then go to Step 4.

STEP 3. Check the harness wires between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 and ground.

1. Connect the connector C-73 to the junction block.

2. Check the harness wires between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 and ground.
If any harness wire between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 and ground is damaged, repair it. Then go to Step 4.
If the harness wires are not damaged, replace the ETACS-ECU. Then go to Step 4.

NOTE: After inspecting intermediate connector C-73, inspect the wire. If intermediate connector C-73 is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Then go to Step 4

STEP 4. Check symptoms.
Confirm that all door lock functions operate.
