1. Dome Light Goes Out Without Dimming (All Doors Closed)







CIRCUIT OPERATION
When the dome light switch is at the "DOOR" position, the ETACS-ECU dim the dome light.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the dome light does not dim when all doors are closed, the ETACS-ECU or its ground circuit may be faulty.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Damaged harness wires or connectors

DIAGNOSIS







STEP 1. Check dome light connector D-06 and ETACS-ECU connector C-86 for damage.
If dome light connector D-06 and ETACS-ECU connector C-86 are damaged, repair them. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection.
If dome light connector D-06 and ETACS-ECU connector C-86 are in good condition, go to Step 2.







STEP 2. Check the harness wires between dome light D-06 and ETACS-ECU C-86.
If any harness wires between dome light D-06 and ETACS-ECU C-86 are damaged, repair them.
If the harness wires are in good condition, go to Step 3.









NOTE: After inspecting intermediate connector D-26, and junction block connector C-75 or C-76, inspect the wire. If intermediate connector D-26, and junction block connector C-75 or C-76 are damaged, repair or replace them. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection.




STEP 3. Check the ETACS-ECU C-86 ground circuit.
If any harness wires between ETACS-ECU and body ground are damaged, repair them.
If harness wires are in good condition, replace the ETACS-ECU. Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check symptoms
Check that the dome light dim function operates properly.
