23. Malfunction of The Auto Reverse

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Does the tape player work normally if the tape is changed?

NOTE: Ensure that the tape label is not loose, that the tape itself is not deformed and that the tape is tightly wound. Also, tape of C- 120 or greater length often get caught in the mechanism and should not be used.

If yes, the tape used is defective. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If no, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Does the problem only occur while the vehicle is being driven?
If yes, go to Step 3.

If no, repair or replace the tape player. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 3. Is the tape player properly installed to the vehicle?
If yes, repair or replace the tape player. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If no, repair the installation condition. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.
