25. CD Can Not Be Inserted

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Does the shutter open when a CD is inserted?

NOTE: If a CD is already loaded, does the shutter not open to allow insertion when another CD is inserted?

If yes, go to Step 2.

If no, take out the CD. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 2. Is the CD elected from approximately 15 mm inside the insertion panel even though it can be inserted?

NOTE: If the key switch is not at "ACC" or "ON," the CD stops at depth of 15 mm below the panel surface even when it is inserted, and it will be rejected when pushed farther?

If yes, go to Step 3.

If no, check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 3. Though the CD is inserted completely, is "E" (error) displayed and the CD ejected?

NOTE: Even though the CD is loaded, "E" (error) is sometimes displayed with the CD rejected because of vibration/shock or dew on the CD face or optical lens.

If yes, go to Step 4.

If no, check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 4. Check the CD.
- Is the labeled side faced downward?
- Is the recorded face of the CD dirty?
- Is there dew on the recorded face of the CD?

If yes, insert the CD correctly or check to see is the CD is defective. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

If no, replace the CD. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.
