Install the relief valve and the compressor in the following steps.

Install the same type as the removed relief valve because the relief valves have two types.

1. After installing the relief valve, check the following components before the compressor has been installed in the vehicle.

(1) Check the A/C compressor clutch relay
(2) Check that the
compressor pulley is free. If not, replace the magnet clutch.
(3) Check the operation of the A/C compressor clutch.

2. The compressor oil has to be contained as follows before installing the compressor in this vehicle.

(1) Measure the amount of oil within the removed compressor (X fl. oz)
(2) The amount of oil (Y fl. oz) calculated according to the following formula has to be contained, and then install the new compressor to refill the decreased compressor oil due to the action of the relief valve.

New compresssor oil amount = 3.4 fl. oz
3.4 fl. oz - X fl. oz = Y fl. oz

NOTE: Y fl. oz indicates the amount of decreased oil according the the action of t6he relief valve.
