Throttle Body Cleaning

THROTTLE BODY (THROTTLE VALVE AREA) CLEANING

1. Remove the throttle body.

CAUTION:
- Do not spray the cleaning solvent directly to the throttle valve.
- Make sure the cleaning solvent does not enter the motor and the sensor through the shaft.

2. Spray cleaning solvent on a clean cloth.
3. Wipe off the dirt around the throttle valve with the cloth sprayed with cleaning solvent.
4. Attach the air intake hose.

Note:
The ETV must be initialized after performing any of the following operations:

^ Throttle body installation, removal, or replacement

^ Throttle body cleaning

^ PCM removal, installation, or replacement

^ Battery cable disconnect and reconnect

^ PCM reprogramming

To initialize the ETV, turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start engine), then turn it off. Keep it off for at least 10 seconds before starting the engine.
