Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Fuel Level Sensor Resistance

FUEL LEVEL SENSOR RESISTANCE

FUEL LEVEL SENSOR (MAIN)

1. Check that resistance value between terminals 2 and 1 is at the standard value when the fuel level sensor float is between point "F" (highest) and point "E" (lowest).

Standard value:
- Point "F": 6.5 ± 1 ohm
- Point "E": 41.2 ± 1 ohm

2. Check that resistance value changes smoothly when the float moves slowly between point "F" (highest) and point "E" (lowest).
3. If all checks are correct, go to fuel level sensor float height check. If any check is not correct, replace the fuel level sensor.

FUEL LEVEL SENSOR (SUB)

1. Check that resistance value between terminals 2 and 1 is at the standard value when the fuel level sensor float is between point "F" (highest) and point "E" (lowest).

Standard value:
- Point "F": 6.5 ± 1 ohm
- Point "E": 78.8 ± 1 ohm

2. Check that resistance value changes smoothly when the float moves slowly between point "F" (highest) and point "E" (lowest).
3. If all checks are correct, go to fuel level sensor float height check. If any check is not correct, replace the fuel level sensor.
