All Door Unlock Output Circuit Shorted to Ground

ALL DOOR UNLOCK OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

All Door Unlock Output Circuit Shorted To Ground:

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (G778) Door unlock driver right doors circuit shorted to ground
- (P5) Door unlock driver left rear circuit shorted to ground
- (G778) Door unlock driver right doors short to (P392) door lock driver right doors
- (P393) Door lock driver left doors short to (P5) door unlock driver left rear
- Cluster

NOTE: If any of the above circuits are shorted, the fuse may blow after one attempt to operate the locks.

Theory of Operation
The Door Unlock Driver Right Doors circuit and the Door Unlock Driver Left Rear circuits are connected together inside the module. Therefore any circuit that is connected to either one can cause this problem.

Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR TROUBLE CODES

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

Q: Does the scan tool display: any Body related DTC's

NO: Go To 2
YES: Refer to the symptom list and repair any DTC's before proceeding.

2. CHECK (G778) DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER RIGHT DOORS FOR SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Cluster C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (G778) Door Unlock Driver Right Doors circuit.

Q: Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?

NO: Go To 3
YES: Repair the (G778) Door Unlock Driver Right Doors circuit for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test - Ver 1

3. CHECK THE (P5) DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER LEFT REAR FOR A SHORT TO GROUND




1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P5) Door Unlock Driver Left Rear circuit.

Q: Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?

NO: Go To 4
YES: Repair the (P5) Door Unlock Driver Left Rear circuit for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test - Ver 1

4. CHECK THE (P392) DOOR LOCK DRIVER RIGHT DOORS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (G778) DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER RIGHT DOORS CIRCUIT




1. Measure the resistance between the (P392) Door Lock Driver Right Doors circuit and the (G778)Door Unlock Driver Right Doors circuit.

Q: Is the resistance below 1.6 ohms?

NO: Go To 5
YES: Repair the (P392) Door Lock Driver Right Doors circuit for a short to the (G778) Door Unlock Driver Right Doors circuit.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 Body Verification Test - Ver 1

5. CHECK THE (P393) DOOR LOCK DRIVER LEFT DOORS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (P5) DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER LEFT REAR CIRCUIT




1. Measure the resistance between the (P393) Door Lock Driver Left Doors circuit and the (P5) Door Unlock Driver Left Rear circuit.

Q: Is the resistance below 1.6 ohms?

NO: Replace the Cluster.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test - Ver 1
YES: Repair the (P393) Door Lock Driver Left Doors circuit for a short to the (P5) Door Unlock Driver Left Rear circuit
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test - Ver 1
