Required Operations
REQUIRED OPERATIONSBefore starting this campaign procedure, CHECK ON THE WARRANTY SUPERSCREEN to verify that the vehicle is an affected VIN for this campaign and that this campaign procedure has not already been completed.
CAUTION
DO NOT DISTURB THE HARNESS CABLES OR CONNECTIONS. THE CCN MODULE MUST BE REPLACED IF AN ABORTED OR CORRUPTED FLASH OCCURS.
CAUTION
BATTERY VOLTAGE (AS MEASURED AT THE BATTERY POSTS WITHOUT ELECTRICAL LOAD) MUST BE 12.4V OR HIGHER IN ORDER TO REPROGRAM THE CCN.
The following equipment is needed to reprogram the CCN for this concern:
^ MUT-III STV 13.1 / RAIDER STV 2.2 Upgrade and RAIDER V6 A/T Reflash Update CD 5/06 or later
^ VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) - MB991824
^ MUT-III main harness A (blue) - MB991910
^ USB 2.0 cable - MB991827
^ "Engine Compartment/Control Module" labels - p/n MSSF-024G-00
1. Check the underside of the hood to verify that there is no label previously installed to indicate that this campaign reprogramming has already been done.
2. Return to the Raider main menu. Verify that your MUT-III has the most current version of the reprogramming database:
a. If your Raider STV version is below 2.2, go to step 3 to update your database.
b. If your Raider STV is version 2.2 or greater, go to Step 4.
3. Transfer the reprogramming data from the MUT-III STV 13.1 / RAIDER STV2.2 Upgrade and RAIDER V6 A/T Reflash Update CD 5106 to your MUT-III laptop as follows:
a. With the MUT-III laptop on, close the Raider STV, and MUT-III STV.
b. Install the Reflash Update CD into the laptop.
c. Follow the instructions displayed on-screen for loading the database onto your laptop.
4. Open Raider STV. In the Raider main menu, select Special Function.
5. Select ECU Reprogramming.
6. Select Automatic Reprogramming.
7. Select CCN.
Then click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
8. Click on the check mark to continue.
a. This screen will display if the CCN is reprogrammable. Select the reprogramming database that has 10076232A0 in the "New ECU P/N" column.
Then click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
b. If this screen displays, the CCN has already been reprogrammed for this concern. Do not continue with this procedure.
NOTE:
CCN p/n 10076232A0 and higher has already been reprogrammed for this concern.
9. Click on the check mark to continue with reprogramming.
It will take up to 5 minutes to complete reprogramming.
CAUTION
DO NOT DISTURB THE HARNESS CABLES OR CONNECTIONS. THE CCN MODULE MUST BE REPLACED IF AN ABORTED OR CORRUPTED FLASH OCCURS. IF THIS OCCURS, REPLACE THE CCN MODULE. REFER TO THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE WARRANTY INFORMATION SECTION OF THIS BULLETIN.
This screen will display when reprogramming is complete. Note the new Part No. displayed on the screen.
10. Using a ball-point pen, enter the new CCN part number, this recall campaign number (SR-06-002), your dealer code, and the current date on the Engine Compartment Label (part no. MSSF-024G-00).
NOTE:
For Raider models, there is no vendor code or ROM ID to be recorded on the label.
NOTE:
If you did not note the new ECU Part No. in Step 9, repeat Steps 4 - 8 and note the Part No. displayed in Step 8a. Be sure to clear all DTCs when this is completed.
11. Carefully remove all dirt and oil from a vacant area near the VECI label on the underside of the hood, and affix the Engine Compartment label. Discard the Control Module label.
12. Clear all DTCs as follows:
a. Return to the Raider main menu and select Special Function.
Select All DTCs.
b. Click on the Erase button at the bottom of the screen.
c. Verify that there are now no DTCs listed.
