Inspection Procedure 6: AM and/or FM station(s) cannot be received.COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The roof antenna, the antenna feeder cable or the audio visual navigation unit may be defective.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunctions of roof antenna
- Malfunctions of antenna feeder cable
- Malfunctions of audio visual navigation unit
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the frequency of the FM multiplex broadcast station which you selected.
Check whether the station frequency selected is being broadcast in stereo.
Q: Is the station frequency selected being broadcast in stereo?
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Select a FM multiplex broadcast station.
STEP 2. Check the reception status of the station frequency.
Check whether the station frequency selected is strong enough for good reception.
Q: Is the station frequency strong enough for good reception?
YES: Go to Step 3.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 3. Confirmation in MMCS service mode
Perform "Network/Connect Line Check" at the MMCS service mode to check that the communication and wire connection with the FM stereo receiver are in good condition.
Q: Are the communication and wire connection with the FM stereo receiver in good condition?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 4. Substitute a known good audio visual navigation unit, and check whether it operates normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Replace the audio visual navigation unit.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 5. Check the roof antenna.
Check whether the roof antenna is damaged.
Q: Is the roof antenna damaged?
YES: Replace the roof antenna.
NO: Replace the antenna feeder cable.
