KEYLESS OPERATION SYSTEM (KOS) INOPERATIVE
PURPOSE
The battery in the Keyless Operation System (KOS) fob may run down excessively due to the fob being in the "test" mode. In the "test" mode, the fob continues to emit a signal and/or keep the LED on all the time. To repair this condition, verify it is an affected vehicle by looking for your VIN on pages three and four of this bulletin and replace both fobs with the part listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin and register them to the vehicle as described in the PROCEDURE section below.

PROCEDURE
Key Registration procedures
1. Remove the knob from the end of the ignition lock cylinder and insert the emergency/valet key into the ignition and then turn to the "ON" position.
NOTE:
Be sure to have all keys and fobs available. Keys and fobs that have already been registered will need to be reregistered.
2. From the MUT-III System select menu, select F.A.S.T/IMMO/Keyless/TPMS.
3. Select Special function.
4. Select Key & F.A.S.T-key Reg.
5. Input the password. Then click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
6. After the first key has been registered, remove it and insert the second key and turn the ignition to the "ON" position. Then click on the check mark to register the next key. This step must be completed within 30 seconds.
7. After all keys have been registered, click on the cancel button to continue to register the fob.
8. Click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
NOTE:
The following steps must be completed within one minute.
9. Press the lock button twice on the NEW fob to be registered. After completion of the first NEW fob registration, continue with the second NEW fob by pressing its lock button twice. You will hear a confirmation tone (BEEP) upon successful registration of each fob.
10. Click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
