GEAR OIL LEVEL CHECK

DIFFERENTIAL MECHANISM PART

1. Remove the filler plug.

2. Check that the gear oil level is in between the upper limit (bottom of the oil filler plug hole) and the lower limit.
3. If the gear oil level is not in between the upper limit and the lower limit, fill the specified gear oil to the bottom of the filler plug hole. After the gear oil reaches the bottom of the filler plug hole, leave it for 1 minute. Then add the gear oil up to the bottom of the hole or until the oil overflows. If the oil overflows, wipe it off thoroughly.

CAUTION: Take time to add the LSD gear oil because it has high viscosity and poor fluidity. If the ambient temperature is under 15° C (59° F), fill the oil at a slower rate.

Specified gear oil: MITSUBISHI Genuine DIA QUEEN LSD gear oil

4. Install the filler plug, and tighten it to the specified torque.

Tightening torque: 49 ± 10 Nm (37 ± 7 ft-lb)
