INSPECTION PROCEDURE 7: The clutch slips when the vehicle starts or during gear shift.TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (THE MOST LIKELY CAUSES FOR THIS CONDITION:)
^ Poor adjustment of transaxle control cable
^ Inadequate transmission fluid level
^ A/T failure: Hydraulic system (valve body assembly), driving force transmission system (clutch/brake)
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the transaxle control cable. [When the clutch slips at vehicle start]
Check the installation status of transaxle control cable and transmission range switch.
Q:Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Adjust the installation status of transaxle control cable and transmission range switch.
STEP 2. Check the transmission fluid.
Check the transmission fluid for seizure, fouling, and foreign material.
Q:Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 3.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 3. Check the transmission fluid level.
Check if the transmission fluid level is adequate.
Q:Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Check and repair the leakage point of the transmission fluid, add the transmission fluid, and then go to Step 4.
STEP 4. Perform a hydraulic test. Hydraulic Pressure Tests
Q:Is the check result normal?
YES: The procedure is complete.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 5. Remove the transaxle assembly from the vehicle.
Disassemble and check the transaxle assembly to check if there is a foreign material inside.
Q:Is the check result satisfactory?
YES: Replace the transaxle assembly.
NO: Replace the failure part.
