PCM REPROGRAMMING FOR DTC P0740 AND/OR P1798 & 2-3 COLD SHIFT IMPROVEMENT
PURPOSE
Some customers may report the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) being illuminated. Diagnosis may reveal that either DTC P0740 and/or DTC P1798 are present in PCM memory.
To eliminate this condition, reprogram the PCM according to the instructions in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
^ 2007-08 Raider with 3.7L V6.
PROCEDURE
DIAGNOSIS
Using the MUT-III, verify that all engine systems are functioning as designed and read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If DTCs other than those listed in the Purpose section above, diagnose and repair them as necessary prior to proceeding further with this bulletin.
THE EQUIPMENT SHOWN ABOVE IS NEEDED TO REPROGRAM THE PCM.
NOTE:
For 2007 model Raiders, the software for this reflash is the same as for TSB-08-23-005REV which modifies the software for the the transmission staying in limp mode after start-up or TSB-08-23-007 for torque convertor shudder or harsh shifting from 1-2 or 2-3. If there is a reprogramming label near the VECI label and the Part Number on the label matches the New Part No. listed in the chart shown in this TSB, the vehicle's software is to the latest specification and reprogramming is not necessary.
