Engine, A/T Controls - A/T In Limp-In Mode On Start Up: Overview

No: TSB-10-23-001

DATE: January, 2010

MODEL: 2007-09 Raider, 3.7L

Subject:
TRANSMISSION REMAINS IN "LIMP-IN" MODE AFTER ENGINE START, NO DTC IN MEMORY

This TSB supercedes TSB-08-23-005REV, issued June, 2008, to add 2008 & 2009 Raiders. Revised information is shown with <.

PURPOSE

Some customers may complain that their vehicle's transmission intermittently remains in "Limp-In" mode (second gear) after an engine start. The transmission will not shift to a higher gear. If the engine is turned off and restarted, the transmission will often perform normally (not in "Limp-In" mode). There will be no transmission related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present.

"Limp-In" mode is used to protect the transmission. The transmission logic will remain in, or revert to, this mode if certain required operating parameters are not met in a specified time during engine start.

To eliminate this condition, reprogram the PCM according to the instructions in this bulletin.
