CODE NO. L0740: P/W (DR) 3 times jam - protection

CAUTION: Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the anti-trap function is activated consecutively three times or more, power window main switch sets the diagnostic trouble code No.L0740.

PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the front power window motor (LH)
- Malfunction of the power window main switch

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the power window fully closed position

1. Carry out the learning procedures of the power window fully closed position. Refer to Learning Procedures Of The Power Window Fully Closed Position.
2. Recheck if the diagnostic trouble code is set.
a. Erase the diagnostic trouble code.
b. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
c. Check if the diagnostic trouble code is set.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : The procedure is complete.

NO : Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnostic trouble code recheck
Replace the front power window motor (LH). Recheck if the diagnostic trouble code is set.

1. Erase the diagnostic trouble code.
2. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
3. Check if the diagnostic trouble code is set.

Q: Is the diagnostic trouble code set?

YES : Replace the power window main switch.

NO : The procedure is complete. Verify that the power window works normally.
