Cylinder head





Check in the following procedure before reusing the cylinder head bolt.
Measure the outside diameter "A".
Measure the smallest outside diameter "B" within the range "X" shown in the illustration.
If the difference of outside diameter of thread exceeds the limit, replace the cylinder head bolt.
Limit 0.1 mm (0.0039 inch)





Tighten the bolts in two or three cycles
1st 45 ± 2 Nm (33 ± 1 ft-lb)
2nd 150 to 154 degrees

1. Tighten left bank 6.5 ± 1.5 Nm (58 ± 13 in-lb).
2. Tighten right bank 22 ± 1 Nm (16 ± 1 ft-lb)
3. Tighten left bank 22 ± 1 Nm (16 ± 1 ft-lb)
4. Tighten right bank and left bank again in that order 22 ± 1 Nm (16 ± 1 ft-lb)

Camshaft sprocket 90 ± 10 Nm (67 ± 7 ft lb)

Exhaust manifold 49 ± 5 Nm (36 ± 3 ft lb)
