PROCEDUREAdding or replacing individual transmitters
If you have a F.A.S.T. Key transmitter registered to the vehicle you can add or replace transmitters using the following procedure. If you do not have a registered transmitter you must obtain a Security Permission File from MMNA. See details later in this TSB.
IMPORTANT:
You must always use NEW keys. Immobilzer information is permanently stored and cannot be changed.
Obtain the Key Register Password from the MDL (Service >> Systems >> Vehicle Information >> Key Register Password).
1. Select the MDL - Mitsubishi Dealer Link tab on the MEDIC II.
2. Log into MDL.
3. From the MDL main page Select "service" then "systems."
4. From the "systems" page, select "Vehicle Information."
5. Select Key Register Password. Passwords are listed by model.
Adding or Replacing one or more F.A.S.T. Keys (if you have a working F.A.S.T. Key)
NOTE:
Replacing an individual lost key is the same as adding a key.
IMPORTANT:
When adding keys, all existing keys are erased from memory and must be re-registered. Ensure you have all keys available before beginning key registration.
1. Connect the MUT-III to the vehicle. DO NOT DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, and press the Engine Start/Stop switch two (2) times to engage the ignition "ON" function. Confirm the LED in the switch is green.
NOTE:
A registered F.A.S.T. key must be in the vehicle for the entire procedure.
2. From the MUT-III Main Menu, click on "System Select."
3. If the VIN or vehicle description displayed does not match the vehicle you are working on, click on the car icon at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on the eraser icon at the bottom of the page.
Select VIN by clicking on the "VIN" button.
5. Click on the icon in the lower RH corner of the screen to have the MUT-III automatically read the VIN. If a message appears saying that the VIN cannot be input automatically, manually type the 17 digit VIN into the VIN field at the top of the page.
Make sure the VIN is correct and click OK (check mark).
6. Confirm that all data is correct and click OK (check mark) at the bottom of the page.
7. Click the Home icon to return to the MUT-III main menu.
8. Click "System Select."
9. Scroll to and select "F.A.S.T./Immob/Keyless/TPMS."
10. The Loading options setup chart display. Select "VF3 - IMMO & FAST & TPMS."
11. Click OK (check mark) at the bottom of the page.
12. When the "Security Info. Check" screen is displayed, insert the registered transmitter into the key box and click OK (check mark).
13. When the "Security Info. Check" is Completed, click OK (check mark).
14. Enter the Key Register Password obtained from the MDL in the "Password" field and click OK (check mark).
15. The first registration will show Completed and the "Present registration number" field will change to 1.
16. A "F.A.S.T. key registration" window will pop up indicating "Complete. If you want additional key registration, insert the key into the KEYBOX and press OK (check mark) within 60 seconds."
Insert the new transmitter into the key box and click OK (check mark) within 60 seconds. Repeat these steps until all transmitters are registered.
For each key added, the "Present registration number" will increase. This should match the number of keys you've registered to the vehicle.
17. When you have completed registering all transmitters click the Cancel (X) button.
18. Click the HOME icon in the lower left corner of the screen
19. Click the Triple Diamond in the lower left corner of the screen to close MUT-III.
20. Disconnect the MUT-III from the vehicle.
21. Verify that all keys function correctly.
