Inspection Procedure 3: Any of the sunshade illuminations does not illuminate normally.

CAUTION:
Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.














TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)

When any of the sunshade illuminations does not illuminate normally, the spot light assembly, wiring harness, or connector may have a problem.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

- Malfunction of the spot light assembly
- Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Sunshade illumination operation check

Check if the sunshade illumination turns ON normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

YES (normal for all) : The diagnosis is complete.
NO (Only the RH side does not illuminate.) : Go to Step 2.
NO (Only the LH side does not illuminate.) : Go to Step 4.
STEP 2. Check sunshade illumination (RH) connector E-10 and the intermediate connector E-14 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.

Q. Is sunshade illumination (RH) connector E-10 and the intermediate connector E-14 in good condition?

YES Go to Step 3.
NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Harness Connector Inspection.
STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between sunshade illumination (RH) connector E-10 terminal No. 1/2 and the intermediate connector E-14 terminal No. 3/4

- Check the power supply lines and ground wires for open and short circuit.

Q. Is the wiring harness between sunshade illumination (RH) connector E-10 terminal No. 1/2 and the intermediate connector E-14 terminal No. 3/4 in good condition?

YES Go to Step 6.
NO The wiring harness may be damaged or the connector(s) may have loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. Repair the wiring harness as necessary.
STEP 4. Check sunshade illumination (LH) connector E-13 and the intermediate connector E-14 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.

Q. Is sunshade illumination (LH) connector E-13 and the intermediate connector E-14 in good condition?

YES Go to Step 5.
NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Harness Connector Inspection.
STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between sunshade illumination (LH) connector E-13 terminal No. 1/2 and the intermediate connector E-14 terminal No. 3/4

- Check the power supply lines and ground wires for open and short circuit.

Q. Is the wiring harness between sunshade illumination (LH) connector E-13 terminal No. 1/2 and the intermediate connector E-14 terminal No. 3/4 in good condition?

YES Go to Step 6.
NO The wiring harness may be damaged or the connector(s) may have loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. Repair the wiring harness as necessary.
STEP 6. Retest the system

Check if the sunshade illumination turns ON normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

NO Replace the spot light assembly that does not illuminate.
