Body - Front Door Window Rattles/Creaks When Part Open

RATTLE AND/OR CREAK NOISE FROM THE FRONT DOOR WINDOW AREA

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2008 Frontier (D40)
2008 Pathfinder (R51)
2008 Xterra (N50)

IF YOU CONFIRM

While driving with either front door window partially open there is a rattle and/or creak noise coming from that door window area.

OR

After the front window has been partially lowered and the power window switch is released, a creaking noise is heard coming from the front door window area.

ACTION

^ Remove door finisher and window.

^ Apply felt tape to the glass as noted in the Service Procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove driver side door finisher. Refer to section GW of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal and installation procedure.

2. Remove window.








3. Apply one 15 mm x 63.5 mm (0.60 in x 2.50 in) strip of felt tape to both sides of the window as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.

4. Reinstall all components in reverse order of removal.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for front door passenger window.

6. Confirm the incident has been resolved.
