LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LAMP STAYS ON


Description


DESCRIPTION
The tire pressure monitoring system is checked and the warning lamp is illuminated for approximately 1 second when the ignition switch is turned ON. The low tire pressure warning lamp turns OFF after the system check finishes.
The system may be malfunctioning if the low tire pressure warning lamp does not turn off approximately 1 second after the ignition switch is turned ON.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

CAUTION:
Never start the engine.
2. Check the tire pressure for all wheels and adjust to the specified value. Specifications.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Inspect or repair the tires or wheels.
2.CHECK LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LAMP
Check low tire pressure warning lamp display.
Does not low tire pressure warning lamp turn OFF?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - INSPECTION END
3.CHECK SYSTEM FOR BCM
With CONSULT-III
Perform "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" in "AIR PRESSURE MONITOR" of "BCM".
Is any DTC detected?
YES - Perform trouble diagnosis. Testing and Inspection.
NO - GO TO 4.
4.CHECK ID REGISTRATION
Perform ID registration all transmitters. Special Repair Requirement.
Does low tire pressure warning lamp turn OFF?
YES - INSPECTION END
NO - GO TO 5.
5.CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. Disconnect BCM harness connector.
3. Check voltage between BCM and harness connector terminals and ground.





Is the power supply normal?
YES - GO TO 6.
NO - Check the following. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damage parts.
- 50 A fusible link [No. J located in the fuse block]. Diagrams.
- 10 A fuse [No. 10 located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Diagrams.
- Harness for short or open between battery and BCM harness connector M67 terminal 57.
- Harness for short or open between battery and BCM harness connector M67 terminal 70.
- Check battery voltage.
6.CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. Disconnect BCM harness connector.
3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector M67 terminal 67 and ground.





Also check harness for short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 7.
NO - Repair open circuit or short to power in harness or connectors.
7.CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - INSPECTION END
NO - GO TO 8.
8.CHECK BCM
Check BCM input/output signal. Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 7.
NO - GO TO 9.
9.CHECK BCM HARNESS CONNECTOR
Check BCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace BCM. Exploded View.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
