1. Remove air cleaner.
2. Remove blind caps attached to altitude compensation pipes of carburetor.
3. Install altitude compensator on vehicle, then connect vacuum hoses between carburetor and altitude compensator, Fig. 126. This completes operation for vehicles equipped with manual transmission.

4. Assemble vacuum tank and brackets into subassembly, install subassembly on vehicle, connect vacuum switch harness connector to engine compartment harness connector, and connect vacuum hoses, Fig. 127.

5. Install vacuum switching valve and bracket on vehicle, connect harness connector to engine compartment harness connector, and connect vacuum hoses, Fig. 128.

6. Disconnect vacuum hose between A.B. valve and intake manifold, then connect vacuum hoses and 3-way connector, Fig. 129.

7. Disconnect vacuum hose between vacuum gallery and 3-way connector, then connect vacuum hoses with V.D.V., Fig. 130.
8. Install air cleaner.
9. Start engine, then check air and vacuum lines for leaks.

10. Check new EGR system as follows:
a. Pinch hose between T.V.V. and air cleaner and disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum switch.
b. Connect vacuum gauge, Fig. 131. Gauge should indicate weak vacuum. If there is no vacuum, recheck air and vacuum line connections.
11. Run engine until it reaches operating temperature and check idle speed, adjusting as necessary.
