Test Description


1. Ensure that vacuum hoses are properly connected.
2. Ensure that distributor vacuum controller functions properly.
3. Install timing light and start engine cold, then check timing. Run engine at idle. Timing should retard as engine warms up.
5. When temperature gauge needle reaches middle of gauge, timing should advance.
6. If timing does not change as described in steps 4 and 5, test thermal vacuum valve.
