TROUBLE DIAGNOSES PROCEDURE FOR MAGNET CLUTCH

Symptom:
- Magnet clutch does not engage.

Inspection Flow:

CONTROL SYSTEM OUTPUT COMPONENTS

Magnet Clutch Control
Under normal operating conditions, when the A/C is switched on, the compressor runs continuously, and the evaporator pressure, and therefore temperature, is controlled by the V-6 variable displacement compressor to prevent freeze up.

Acceleration Cut Control
The ECM will turn the compressor ON or OFF based on the signal from the throttle position sensor.












































MAGNET CLUTCH CIRCUIT

SYMPTOM:
- Magnet clutch does not engage.

ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS INSPECTION








A/C Relay
Check continuity between terminals 3 and 5.








Low Pressure Switch
Check continuity between terminals.








High Pressure Switch
Check continuity between terminals 1 and 3.
