Line Pressure Test

Line Pressure Test
LINE PRESSURE TEST PORTS





Location of line pressure test ports are shown in illustration.
^ Line pressure plugs are hexagon-headed bolts.
^ Always replace line pressure plugs as they are self-sealing bolts.

LINE PRESSURE TEST PROCEDURE

1. Check A/T fluid and engine oil levels. If necessary, add fluid and oil.





2. Drive vehicle for approximately 10 minutes or until fluid and oil reach operating temperature.
ATF operating temperature: 50 - 80°C (122 - 176°F)





3. Install pressure gauge to line pressure port.





-D, 2 and 1 positions-
-R position-






4. Set parking brake and block wheels.
^ Continue to depress brake pedal fully while performing line pressure test at stall speed.





5. Start engine and measure line pressure at idle and stall speed.
^ When measuring line pressure at stall speed, follow the stall test procedure.
Line pressure: Refer to Specifications.





JUDGEMENT OF LINE PRESSURE TEST

Governor Pressure Testing
1. Check A/T and engine fluid levels. If necessary, add fluid.
2. Drive vehicle for approximately 10 minutes or until engine oil and ATF reach operating temperature.
ATF operating temperature: 50 - 80°C (122 -176°F)





3. Install pressure gauge to governor pressure port.





4. Jack up front and rear wheels.
5. Set selector lever in D position and gradually depress accelerator pedal.
^ Be careful of rotating wheels.





^ Governor pressure is not generated when vehicle is stopped.
^ Governor pressure rises gradually in response to vehicle speed.
Governor pressure: Refer to Specifications.
