Fuel Level Sensor: Testing and Inspection




Fuel Warning Lamp Sensor Check:





FUEL WARNING LAMP SENSOR CHECK
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect fuel level sensor unit harness connector C5 models) or C13 (VG models).
3. Connect a resistor (80 &) between fuel level sensor unit harness connector C5 (KA models) or C13 (VG models) terminals 1 models) or G (VG models) (OR/B) and 4 (KA models) or E models) (B).
4. Turn ignition switch ON.
The fuel warning lamp should come on.

NOTE: ECM might store DTC during this inspection. If the DTC is stored in ECM memory, erase the DTC after reconnecting the fuel level sensor unit harness connector.

03 FRONTIER 2.4L (KA24DE):




03 FRONTIER 3.3L (VG33E & VG33ER):





Check the resistance between fuel level sensor unit terminals 1 and 4.
