Disassembly of Differential Case Assembly
DISASSEMBLY OF DIFFERENTIAL CASE ASSEMBLY1. Remove side bearing inner cones using Tool
Caution: To prevent damage to bearing, engage puller jaws in grooves.
Tool numbers
A: ST33051001 (J22888-20)
B: ST33061000 (J8107-2)
NOTE:
^ Be careful not to confuse the right-hand and left-hand parts.
^ Keep bearing and bearing race for each side together.
2. Loosen ring gear bolts in a crisscross pattern.
3. Tap ring gear off the differential case with a soft hammer.
^ Tap evenly all around to keep ring gear from binding.
4. Punch off pinion mate shaft lock pin from differential case.
^ Lock pin is caulked at pin hole mouth on differential case.
